There are several ways to resolve a traffic citation:
- To contest the citation, you may appear in court at the location, date and time provided on the digital citation. To access the digital citation, scan the QR code on the card issued to you by the law enforcement officer (see “About the QR code…” for more information regarding the QR code).
- Contact the court before the “Notice to Appear” date to make arrangements with the court, such as deferred disposition or taking a driving safety course. Contact the court for more information.
- You may also resolve the citation by paying fines in full by the date provided. On the digital citation, click PAY FINE. You will be directed to Trusted Driver’s online payment portal to pay the fine online using a credit card or digital wallet payment system.
Yes, you have the right to contest or challenge a citation in court. Specific procedures and requirements vary depending on the jurisdiction and the nature of the citation. Scan the QR code on your ticket to contact the court for information regarding instructions on how to respond to a citation. You may seek legal advice, if necessary.
To determine if you qualify for a driving safety course, and if it’s an option for mitigating your citation, you should contact the court directly. They can provide guidance on whether you meet the eligibility criteria.
NOTE : If you request deferred disposition or request a driving safety course, it will be up to the judge to grant it.

This citation can be paid immediately if you choose to use the payment portal accessible through the digital citation. You will be directed to the Trusted Driver payment portal, powered by Stripe.

Yes, paying a fine associated with a traffic ticket will result in a conviction on your state driving record.
Contact the court to make specific arrangements regarding your citation, such as requesting an extension to pay a fine.
Failing to respond to the citation after the Notice to Appear date may result in a separate charge of Violate Promise to Appear. This separate charge may be filed with additional costs and an arrest warrant.
The citation may also be referred to a collection agency and may be reported to the state’s “Failure to Pay” program – also known as OmniBase .
An alternative option, such as Community Service, will be decided by the Judge. You will need to contact the court to submit a plea form, appear in court and speak to the Judge.
